17 Days to GO!

Only 17 Days to Go!

The first day of the convention is only 17 days away, and we are excited to be implementing the plans we have been working on for over a year. On July 21, the convention got the keys to the Xcel Energy Center and began the six week build-out of the arena, preparing it to welcome our 45,000 convention guests. Soon after, we announced the official block schedule for the week’s events. Outfitting the "X" with the equipment needed to accommodate all of the convention participants and the packed schedule we have laid out is a massive undertaking. By the time the proceedings begin, the convention complex will house 475,000 square feet of media space; more than 25 miles of analog, digital, fiber, and phone cable; and 135 miles of copper wiring. In an effort to allow those at home to see the transformation as it happens, we are posting a behind-the-scenes, time-lapse video of our progress every week between now and the convention.
